About

Mission

The Art Cave is an art collective and gallery in Santa Cruz, CA that provides a space for artists to exhibit work, learn new skills, collaborate, and support one another. Their mission is to connect emerging artists with emerging collectors in the SF Bay area and beyond.

History

The Art Cave was born in 2015 when artists Danielle Peters and Leigh Erickson went in
on a shared studio space from which they could create their art. Slowly, The Cave evolved into a place where they also taught art classes and hosted occasional events. In 2018, with the goal of creating a stronger network of artists, they officially decided to open up The Art Cave to others through monthly and bimonthly exhibitions, artist dinners, and workshops. In one short year, they expanded the gallery to a larger space and now have the ability to exhibit more art than they ever imagined.
